Answer quistion of suzanne's efs

1. What’s her background? What’s her family’s ancestry?

Suzanne was born in Australia . Her father's family background was Welsh and English while her mother's was Irish and Scottish.

2. When did her father’s family first come to Australia?
Her father's family came on the 2nd Fleet.

3. What about her mother’s?
Her mother's family came 2 generations ago.

4. Where did she feel at home and why?
She feels at home in Wales as she was close to her father and also because of her musical side come from her father mostly.

5. What’s her parent’s connection with music?

Her father was involved in musical theater and performing musicals in his free time. Her mum was singing on stage and playing few instruments.


6. What type of music were they involved with?

Her father was into classical music while her mother was into popular music.

7. How old was she when she started learning a musical instrument?

She started learning to play a musical instrument at the age of 3 1/2.


8. What instrument was it? Who taught her how to play it?
Her first instrument was the ukelele and her mum taught her how to play it.

9. What was her second instrument? What type of songs did she sing?

The second instrument was the guitar and she played folk and pop songs.

10. Has she still got her first instrument? What happened to it?

Her ukelele broke few yers ago.

11. What did she do at 15? Where?
She went for a holiday at Surfers' Paradise and she won talent quest.

12. What did she do in the late sixties?

Suzanne joined a rock band in the late sixties.

13. What was the name of her band? (It’s in one of the photos-the newspaper clipping)
The name of the rock band was "The Cavalier's".

14. Did they become famous? Yes

15. What does the newspaper clipping say?
"The Cavaliers and the Sensational Suzanne Way"

16. What was there always in the background?

Classical music was always in the background.

17. When did she start playing the mandolin?

Suzanne started playing mandolin later on in life after her mum passed away.


18. How long did it take her to play in the Classical Ensemble?

Within 18 months after started learning the mandolin.

19. When did she perform in the Opera House? What was the show?

She performed in the 80's during the Folkloric Festival. The show was about 1 bracket russian folk music and 1 brackett classical music.

20. What did she do at university?

She joined a musical interest group - studying about composes / playing musical instrument and listening music.

21. What does she call “soirées”?

Soirees are musical weekends. They go to Victorian Albert hotel. They dress up costumes in the music they're tlking playng about.

23. Does she still play? What takes up all her time?

She now plays for pleasure. Most of her time is taken up by teaching now.

24. What is her involvement with music now?
She goes to concert and operas.

25. How did she start modelling and where?

She started doing fashion parades. She was modelling for David Jones.


26. How did she get involved in it?
She was working in a newspaper company where David Jones had some advertising. Then she started doing fashion parades for them.


27. Did she have any training? Did she find it difficult or embarrassing?
She had 1 evening training. She did not find it difficult or embarrassing as she said she is always a performer.

28. Why does she say the modelling photos look a bit dated?
She said there was a "Mexican and Spanish Festival" and the modelling was related to it.
